Cooking is a secondary profession. Get it as soon as possible since you can get raw mats (meat, eggs, etc.) when you are leveling up. You can buy food from vendors but getting free food through cooking is the best option, especially if you are using a non-healing character.
Killing low level mobs like boars and wolves for their meat is rather boring when you are level 80. Again, it is a secondary profession, everyone should have
