So far there are 3 orphans to do some quests with. An orc orphan in Orgrimmar, blood elf in Shattrath City and a Wolvar or Oracle orphan from Dalaran. As a blood elf, I got the pet companions for the Veteran Nanny achievement by doing the chain quests for the blood elf orphan. You can only get one companion per year though, so you need three yearly Children’s Week events to get all three for the achievement.

Home Alone
Just use your hearthstone with your orphan out. Simple.

Daily Chores
Easy to do with lots of dailies you can do in a day. Major cities have at least a cooking and a fishing daily. Tol Barad Peninsula have lots. You just need your orphan out when you turn in the daily quests.

Bad Example
Eat the sweets listed below while your orphan is watching:
+ Tigule and Foror’s Strawberry Ice Cream – sold by Alowicious Czervik in Orgrimmar, he’s in front of the Valley of Strength inn. Also by Emmithue Smails in Stormwind.
+ Red Velvet Cupcake
+ Dalaran Brownie
+ Dalaran Doughnut
+ Lovely Cake Slice – you need to buy the Lovely Cake, right-click and cast it on the ground, so you can “use” it. It will give you 5 Lovely Cake Slices. You only need one slice though.
The sweets above are sold by the Dalaran pastry vendor named Aimee near Dalaran’s north bank
+ Tasty Cupcake – crafted with 350 skill cooking. Needs 2 Simple Flour and 1 Northern egg. If you can’t cook it, try looking for it in the Auction House.
+ Delicious Chocolate Cake – also through cooking profession but the recipe is a random reward drop from Outland and Northrend cooking dailies. Needs 8 Simple Flour, 4 Ice Cold Milk, 4 Mild Spices, 1 Flask of Port and 3 Mageroyals and 8 Small Eggs which you can easily farm. Same as above, if you can’t cook it, try looking for it in the Auction House at usually a hefty price during the season. Eating it also makes you very happy :D

Aw, Isn’t It Cute?
As mentioned earlier, there’s 3 quest lines you can complete from Azeroth, Outland and Northrend. Completing the quest lines will give you a pet companion. The one in Shattrath gives you the pet for the Veteran Nanny requirement.

School of Hard Knocks
With your orphan out, must do the following:
+ Assault a node in Arathi Basin
+ Return a Warsong Gulch flag
+ Assault a tower in Alterac Valley
+ Cap a flag in Eye of the Storm

School of Hard Knocks can be easy or a totally frustrating achievement to do. It can be easy if allies and horde “cooperate” and frustrating if someone mess it all up. In Warsong Gulch a player of the opposing team can take the flag and drop it for the other team to “cap”. Arathi Basin flag and Alterac Valley tower flags can be exchanged by alternately assaulting the flag, and for the Eye of the Storm just get the flag and return it to your team’s controlled tower. These are the best scenarios to get the achievement fast.

For the worst scenario, it surely be a chaos when allies and horde kill each other as well as having players wanting to get their own achievement ahead of everybody. Even when some enemy players are cooperating, some dumbass player comes into the scene and mess it all up by killing an opposing though cooperating player, leaving people looking blankly at the flag that they can’t click. Goodluck with this one, yeah, really depends if you are lucky to queue for a best scenario battleground.

Hail To The King, Baby
You have to kill King Ymiron in Utgarde Pinnacle (be sure that your orphan is out). Two ways to get there, one is to queue using the dungeon finder if it is still listed or fly directly to Utgarde Pinnacle in Northrend. If you are level 80 or less, you may need to get a full dungeon group to kill him. On the other hand, he is easily soloable with a level 85.

Did I mention that you must have your orphan out at all times doing the above achievements?

Have fun!
