What’s New in 2011

Those starting the event off when it goes live will run into a few issues. Some of the faction leaders required for the quests are currently missing, so the quests can not be completed. However, word has it these quests will be patched up in an update shortly. Other than that, the majority of the event remains the same.

A lot of other NPCs were moved due to the Cataclysm. For instance, for Horde characters looking for Snivel Rustrocket during “A Friendly Chat…” he has been moved to beside the zeppelin tower instead of on top of it (between the legs of a lunar festival tauren) and of course, the Barber Shop has been moved to a new location so he’ll be at the new one instead of where the old one would have been.

Lunar Festival is up from the 4th week of January until the 3rd week for February. You need lots of travelling to do for the achievements but quite easy now with the ability to fly almost anywhere. Here are the list of the elders you need to visit and talk to in order to complete the [To Honor One's Elders] and also the [What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been] achievements.

I’ve been plagued for some time with high latency rates while playing WoW under Windows 7, which somewhat by default delays some packets sent over the network. Here’s something to resolve it :

(Just a warning, the registry editor is a powerful tool that could help as well as crash your windows, don’t tinker with it if you don’t know what you are doing)

1. Open up the registry editor by running Regedit.exe

2. Go to the sub items under :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces]

3. There will be some sub-items with lots of numbers under it, click through those items and look particularly for the sub-item with the following entries :
AddressType, DhcpGatewayHardware, EnableDeadGWDetect,T1, T2 and the like.

4. Now under the registry editor menu, click EDIT, then NEW, then create two “DWORD (32-bit value)”. It will add new registry keys namely New Value #1 and New Value #2.

5. Rename New Value #1 and #2 to TCPAckFrequency and TCPNoDelay respectively.

6. Assign a value to the new registry keys by double-clicking the keys and set the Hexadecimal Value to 1

7. Restart and enjoy.

Blackrock Caverns is probably the first dungeon in Cataclysm you can have a quest and gain access to in the dungeon finder. The catch is you have to find the instance location first before you can even queue in the dungeon finder, which in turn a tricky location to find. The path going to the instance  is obscured by wooden boxes and seems to be blending with the wall going to the Upper & Lower Blackrock Spire.

I finally found it after hours of searching. What makes it difficult to find since the area becomes colored when you explore the area of Ramkahen Legion Outpost and the Obelisk of the Stars, which
